Default Gun Point Robbery at East and Terrace

I was at the Old Eagle last night and around eleven pm, two guys came into the bar. They had been walking up East St, right above the corner of East and Terrace, when a large black guy, described as 6'3", dark complexion, 220 lbs., unshaven, wearing a black t-shirt and black pants, asked them for the time.

One of the guys grabbed his cell phone out of his pocket to tell him the time, and then the next thing they knew the one guy (both over 6" by the way, the one was guy was 6'5") had a .357 revolver in his back. They gave him wallets and cell phones, and the robber told them to get out of there and not look back.

The robber was last seen running towards the staircase leading from East St up to Dexter St, but the two guys dont know if he actually went up the stairs, or made a right at the top of East.

To my knowledge, he wasnt caught. So if you live in this area, as I do, be on the look-out for someone matching that description.

That's insane. I can't believe that went down at East and Terrace.

One question though; how did he know it was a .357 in his back if he only felt it there?

It was probably a revolver -it seems everyone assumes a revolver is a .357.

He knew, he said, because he saw it before he felt the black guy put it in his back. Actually, they both saw it. Coincidentally, it was apparently the same type of gun that one of their fathers owns.

my op could have been clearer. They were walking up East, above Terrace, and when they were robbed of their phones and told to run, they ran the length of the block into the Old Eagle, to call 911. Lucky for them, the owner, who is a philly cop, was in the bar, and he actually made the 911 call...

That's totally insane. It's good that nobody got hurt. I live 3 blocks from there; for what it's worth, the owner of the Old Eagle is a great guy.

They must be very good to be able to tell the difference between a .38 revolver and a .357 revolver. I am sure the gun looked huge, while they were staring down the barrel, but I would just say it was a black (or silver) colored revolver. If the cops recover a .38 and the witnesses said it was a .357, I could see a defense lawyer jumping all over that.
