Thumbs down Roxborough Post Office Vent

This is a vent, so if you don't want to read it click the back button.

I am so sick and tired of the Rox. P. O. on Ridge Ave. Since I started working 2nd shift last month, I am in the PO at least 3-4x a week in the early AM, and early AFT (Not lunchtime).

There are no less than 17 people on line at one time or another.
Sometimes there is only 1 person at the desk, sometimes there are 3 people there. It doesn't seem to matter how many people there are working, it's always backed up.

The two regular people---

(1) a Filipino lady who is a slow as watching an iceberg melt. She also seems to be going deaf...The other day when I was buying several denominations of stamps she asked me "How you pay....DEBIT? CREDIT?" and I said "cash" and she reached for a card from me. I repeated "Cash" and she said, " I need you card.." I said it's " cash....green currency....how much is it please?" We went back forth with this at least 3 more times. There was also a line out the door and everyone heard the exchange .

(2) and a Puerto Rican lady (whose name I know is Rita). who appears to be nothing but a village gossiper, and she seems to have ADHD, but doesn't get anything done or moving any faster. In fact, she seems better suited to high school lunch lady. She';s snappy, short and rude. I've heard her use profanity, and talk about very inappropriate things in front of people.

Really awful.

I wrote a letter to the post master and complained about a month ago and never got a response.

B. w. the post office and the fat creepy people in the liquor store I have to wonder how these folks got civil service and govt. jobs with bad attitudes and poor performances?

If I acted like that or did any of those things, my supervisor would fire me on the spot.

Maybe it's just me..

I thought these were PREREQUISITES for civil service/gvt employees. You know, "it's not my yob.."

Was there a line drawn on the ground? If not, you weren't ON line, you were IN line. ONLINE is what you were when you posted your message.

So tonka, what part of the US are you from originally? My guess would be NY or that area.

With the online comment, I knew you weren't from here. I know NYers are great for saying online, I didn't realize that Chicagoans do as well.

I tend to have weird things happen to me with people...I laughed this off but really it was pretty inappropriate.

One of the women working at the post office was flirting (heavily) with the male customer in front of me. She beckoned me forward and asked me to smell him because "his cologne was soooo good".

So I did

I go to the post office on Main Street now-Rox is ridiculous, agreed.

I think that man was me...lol

:bitchslap:

Seriously, I've heard that woman complain about her ex-boyfriend/husband, whatever...saying stuff regarding the man having hit her son & the police involvement, etc.. I don't want to hear all of that personal garbage while I am buying postage. It is worse than a bar.

The little retail area hasn't been open in months.
The stamp machine is constantly broken--either it won't take coins, or won't take bills.

The scale still reads the old weights and measurements.

The place is filthy;e sp. the letter drop area. It looks like a bunch sheep with 12 arms each (and each arm bearing a hand with shoe polish) were let loose on the walls there.

While I was waiting yesterday a woman asked the Filipino clerk(I don't know her name) how much it cost to mail a postcard. The clerk stumbled around confused..."Postcard? I dunno know. I can't find rate chart....
I don't know... "

Cripes it's 26 cents! How can you work as postal clerk and not know how much a dang postcard is????

Default Guarantee

Hey

Didn't the post offices have little signs about 6 years ago that said Service Guaranteed in 5 minutes

I remember things improved for about 2 months then all the signs disappeared..

It's just as bad up in conshy with all the small biz drop offs.
