I have to wait because the packages I mail require insurance, DOCs, etc... I mail out quite a bit of metered material for work and personal items. An average wait is 30 minutes. I've stood longer. |

I second those complaints about the Ridge Avenue post office. Has anyone noticed that there is a Fed Ex box just outside of the post office?
On one occasion I had about 10 identical fairly heavy packages that needed no insurance or any other special handling, just postage. I informed the clerk that they were all identical and needed no special services. I got asked about dangerous materials, insurance, etc. for every single package. I guess the meaning of ALL is too complex. The Mount Airy post office is just as bad and I avoid it if at all possible. I am reduced to tears if there is some circumstance that forces me to use that dreadful installation. Ditto the Chestnut Hill post office. But ... the post office on Main Street has been great. The clerks there know their business and have always been pleasant. On occassion I have had things to send to foreign locations. No hesitation what so ever on the part of the clerks. |

I know it's a bit far for everyone living inRox, but I used to live in the Northeast (moved up here a few months ago) and the PO on Frankford and Cottman is great! The man there with the white hair (don't know his name) is very helpful and very friendly! Every now and then I'll go there just to avoid Rita!! I was unaware of the one on Main St., so I'll try that one now!

Yeah, Green Ln. is OK, but I'd really like to use the PO in walking distance of me.
If I am driving, I go to the Bala PO. They have stamp machines that takes only credit cards (therefore no broken coin slots or non-working bill readers). It has a long line, but it moves quickly because there are 5+ people working there, and working very efficiently. I never saw the soap opera tv though. So much for federal employees. |

That's fine, as long as you agree that Marty McFly went back IN time in the Back to The Future trilogy, and not back ON time.
