Gay Streete steps to corporate tax rate complaints - it gets better and better.

And El, you know, as I do, that practically no one pays 35% corporate tax rate. Average large corporate rate is around 10% (effective). Huge number of corporations pay zilch. If you're gonna complain about the cost of the corporate taxes in US, at least use real numbers - which you have freely admitted to on other threads.

I was hoping you'd notice. Those effective tax rates don't take into account taxes paid in other countries. specifically, revenue shifted to foreign countries with lower tax rates. high corp tax rates are really self defeating no matter how satisfied your avg corp hater is with the rates. lowering it to a flat 10% woudl be a huge improvement and would actually increase revenue. if companies did pay those rates, you'd see more relocate overseas. esp to countries with trade agreements with the US. complaining about offshore havens amounts to "hey no fair, we are the US and shouldn;t have to compete with other countries." and yes, we do tend to get off topic but that's one of the great thigns about this blog.

How about we do this - drop the rate to 25% with no loopholes - which increases government revenue enough to pay for schools, health insurance, etc. And you can claim victory for getting a big reduction in the tax rates.

You'll never go for that.

it's still too high. we already collect more than enough in taxes, it's just spent all wrong.

And to think, I offered you such a nice compromise.

Ingrate.

eliminate the rate entirely, and eliminate all individual tax loopholes. Allow companies to expense dividends and treat them as income on the individual's side. expand the lowest bracket to $20,000. and to pay for some healthcare, bring our boys home. foreign policy arrogance has bankrupted many an empire.
and a plug for us renters, eliminate property tax deductions.

Eliminate property tax deductions . . . and mortgage interest deductions . . . There's about as much chance of that as you becoming a Democrat and extolling the virtues of FDR.

Actually I did read your threat of becoming a Dem. Hell is getting mighty cold these days.
