Default East Falls Market

What is the new market that is called EastfallsMarket on Ridge near the cemetery? I noticed a new awning and signs with dot com. I tried the dot com & nothing comes up. I may have keyed in the wrong address though. I was driving by and tried to remember the dot com. It looks like it may be a produce market plus other stuff.

I don't live in East Falls. Anyone know what this place is?

"Marketplace at East Falls, which fronts Ridge Avenue, is the vision of Jeff Baskin and Lisa Berger Baskin. Having owned and operated a produce stand in Seattle's Pike Place Market, Jeff envisioned bringing that energy and opportunity to East Falls and its surrounding communities. A place to buy fresh produce, meats, fish, flowers, coffee, pastas, cheeses, wine and other gourmet and premium prepared foods right in the neighborhood. Construction started in the spring of 2006 and is proceeding at a rapid pace."

Thanks! It looks promising! Beats the trek to Reading Terminal or Chestnut Hill. I'm going to check it out!

This looks awesome. I'm going to check it out too. The website doesn't have the hours...does anyone know what they are?

The building is completely empty. I'm not sure what those pictures are doing on the Web site.

My understanding is that it is more of a "concept" than an actual "reality".

The guy isn't opening a market per se, he is a building owner trying to lease floor space to vendors who have market-like products to sell.

So far I'm guessing he hasn't had many takers, but it would be great if he pulled it off.

I walked over there on saturday. It was a gorgeous day out. Unfortunately, I found out after getting there that there is nothing there. The pictures on the website definitely are misleading. I had called the number first to find out the hours, but got an answering machine. I walked past the cemetary so the trip wasn't a waste.

Unhappy

Oh, no. Thanks for saving me the driving trip. By the looks of the awning & signage, I would have had no clue that they were not open yet.

I hope they attract some vendors soon. It really is a prime spot!

I stopped in today. He should be open late Jan. Phase 1 is leased up, Ithink it will be 16 vendors to start. Looks like a cool deal! No need to go to 9st? I hope!
