Default Quiet, romantic bar

Can anyone suggest a nice quiet (accent on quiet) intimate bar to have a drink with a friend. We like to sit and have a few drinks where we don't have to scream at each other to be heard. Is there any such place around???? Thanks for any help.

Try the outdoor patio area at the Adobe Cafe. Real nice spot.

Though very small - the bar at Jake's.

Try the bar at Le Bec Fin (it's on the lower level). Very intimate. The food is great, too, and not outrageously expensive, at least not the last time I was there a year ago.

The Ugly Moose has a very nice, private outdoor deck in the courtyard.

I love the Ugly Moose. If you're looking for someplace reasonably priced, but nice, that isn't a "dressed up" atmosphere where you can actually TALK, it's a good choice. It's not exactly "romantic" but it's a nice place and not a big "scene" -- just a place you could have a nice, quiet drink and enjoy a conversation in a pleasant place.

Le Bus, Bella Trattoria & Il Tartufo (don't stone me pls!) are all on Main near each other and the outside seating makes for a great time.

I also second the Moose & Adobe. Casselli's and Maria's (both italian)further up Ridge have a more romantic setting.
