My parents live right down the street. If you're working on West Point Pike (and I think I know exactly what vet's office youre talking about) Definatley take morris road. Bells mill to Bethlehem pike> veer right at the Bent Elbow> Turn left at the first light (near the doggie wash and go) > Make a right at the dead end> and you're on morris (it's about 20 mins from there) > make a right at West Point pike (if youve gotten to Broad street youve gone to far) Traffic doesn't get too bad along that route. I can usually make it from Roxborough in 20-30mins.

Yep... I live in Manayunk, and a few of my friends live in Landsdale. It takes me about 35 mins or so to get down 476 so long as there's not much traffic.
