Sounds like AZURE in Northern Liberties will do the trick! I've been there a few times, recommended it, and everyone loves it. Great atmosphere, affordable, great selection - you'll love it too. Here's their website to give you a better idea.

I'm not trying to be rude. It's a short thread; it was only one page of posts when you posted, which was after the poster had clarified that he/she really needed a place in the neighborhood, so I expect it would have been easy for anyone to see what was actually being asked if they read even a few of the posts on the page.
And this is, after all, the "Manayunk/Roxborough/East Falls" forum, not a general question under "Food and Drink." I didn't ask you to remove your suggestion. I was just pointing out that it was not helpful to the poster because it did not meet his/her request. Please, I'm not looking for a fight, just trying to help the poster who needs to find a good restaurant here in the neighborhood. No need to get all verklempt about it, okay? ;-) |

I'm not used to people being so anal about things like this. When I originally posted my suggestion, I had only read the first page of TWO postings. Obviously I was not the only one who gave a response out of the "geographically-correct" area. Well, lesson learned - I will really think twice before sharing my opinions with people. No one likes to be spoken down to or treated like an idiot. Your comment was rude. So much for friendly conversation. |

I still don't understand why you're so upset at my little attempt to nudge the thread back toward the poster's needs. If it got too far off after the first post on the second page like that, we might have wound up with a bunch of random posts about restaurants in other parts of town from people who used "new posts" to view it and didn't look back to see what had been asked.
And maybe the board isn't working correctly or something. When I looked at the times on the posts, yours appears to have been posted over five hours after the original poster re-confirmed that the restaurant had to be here in the neighborhood. It's easy to mis-read tone in a post, and I think that's what you're doing with mine. Ask around. I'm not a rude poster. And I'm not talking down to you. Peace, brother, peace! |

Now, does anyone else, including db632, have any suggestions of places in the area where bluestar might take out-of-town guests to eat this evening?
I'll offer Le Bus since you mentioned "american bistro" type food. I always enjoy the food there, and there are a range of choice that could please a variety of tastes. |

I love Adobe & Casselli's is great too - It's a really charming Italian joint w/impeccable service. They have an Italian lounge singer, and gave us complimentary peppers and such before we ate. They are so great at reading your mind there. I don't know if I've ever had better service. They let us sample wines to go with our meal, and then let us choose our favorite. Just one of the best Italian restaurants around.
I also really enjoyed Maria's! I've been dying to try Chabaa Thai - I think I'll go sometime this week. |
