Default Best make-out spots in Philadelphia

When I was a teenager in Northeast Philly, there was a great make-out spot in Pennypack Park called Little City. Little City was at the bottom of a small valley, next to the Pennypack Creak. It was a family picnic area by day, but after the sun set, it took on a whole new life. Young couples would park their cars and, well, do what young couples do. The area got it's name because the park rules required that you leave your parking lights on at all times after sunset. As long as you followed this rule, the park police would leave you alone. When all of these cars with their lights on were viewed from the top of the valley, it appeared as if there was a 'little city' in the park.

I'm sure there are similar spots in and around the city. Anyone care to share.

Default Suburban "hot" spots

I know of two - only by what I was told at the time and not by actual experience.

Computer Road - in the Willow Grove area

Willow Grove Naval Air Station parking lots - they may have had nighttime submarine races to view along the East and West River Drives but in the "burbs" we watched airplanes land - I mean they watched them and not me.

The Waterworks overlooking the dam. The gazebo just up from the waterworks near the Art museum. The front(back) of the Art Museum. Pretty much anywhere near the Parkway/ Fairmount Park. Penns Landing. One place I once took a girl was the Whispering Bench next to Memorial Hall - very cool.

I remember Pennypack's "Little City". That was a great spot.

One spot me and my buddies would take our gf's to was the boat launch at Linden Ave in the NE. You'd pull in there, park, and as you looked around everyone was just making out or walking together.

Default little city

where exactly is that? Having grown up near the Verree Road entrance to Pennypack park, I'm intrigued to hear about this.

The entrance to the park on Rhawn Street, just east of the Winchester Park light. It's the entrance where there's the little stone shack with the gate that gets locked at night.

Under the runstrip at the airport (not so good with the new airport config), and the Plateau are 2 that come to mind.

Independence Square Park used to be an awesome place for making out before 9/11 and increased security cameras! Not that I would know firsthand or anything.

I forget what time the park "officially" closes -- and if you get locked in, the sign on the gate tells you to call 9-1-1 to get out. hahaha. YOU: "Hi, officer. We were making out, lost track of time, got locked in, and now need you to unlock the gate, please." COP: "Both of you need to show me your I.D."

I have an SUV. If I got locked in, I would just jump the curb and get out on my own. I have 9.75 inches of clearance under me, so I'm good to go.

As a responsible family man, I don't go to the Pennypack to make out. I go further out to do that. hahaha!
