Yes, SEPTA also has a Citizen's Advisory Committee.

Whose advice, like that of many advisory committees, is heeded and ignored in roughly equal measure.

One place where SEPTA heeded it to its benefit: the adoption of the Annual Service Plan.

One place where SEPTA ignored it to its harm: the last fare hike/restructuring, which led to a lawsuit the authority lost.

MSEl, what's the process for getting on the SEPTA CAC? Don't you have to be nominated by a civic group or other party? I.e., you can't just show up and ask to join, can you?

Service on the CAC comes with what is really a dynamite perk - a free transpass. Almost makes me want to do it...almost.

You are correct that you have to be nominated or recommended by some other individual or organization -- you cannot simply apply.

Paul Steinke recommended me for an open city seat several years ago, when he was a CAB member. I was interviewed by someone in the Managing Director's Office and got a polite "thanks, but no thanks; we'll keep you name handy just in case" letter in the end.

I'm not so cynical as to believe that I didn't make it on because I was "somebody nobody sent," but I'm sure that my lack of any ties to any other local civic or political organizations at the time didn't help any.

I noticed there's a new one with a green theme. They should have at least made that button green.

It's a quiz to see how well the Go GREEN ads did with people actually reading and learning about how green public transportation is....

Default Yet another survey

Looks like there's yet another survey:

SEPTA "Passenger Etiquette" Online Survey
A new "Passenger Etiquette" Online Survey has been posted. The survey asks to share your experiences with other passengers on the SEPTA system. Be sure to take the survey!

Passenger etiquette? SEPTA, the problem isn't the passengers, even if some of them don't know how to behave in public. Anything to deflect attention from SEPTA's shitty service.

SEPTA should be spending more time figuring out why every lane of 95 and 76 are filled with cars each morning.

I'd love to see something about "Employee Etiquette" since most of their employees need some training in basic customer service.
