Angry Guy bumps me on my bike with his car.....on purpose!

Ok, so I do a fair amount of riding in the city and I always try to follow safe rules of the road. Today around 4pm I am heading east on chestnut @ 16th street, stopped and waiting at the redlight. Some idiot is honking at me from behind. (as this happens from time to time, I just ignore them)
After a few more honks I glance back and then look straight ahead again, then the guy bumps me with his car and tells me to get out of the road! I tell him I'm in the bike lane and point to the sign, and mention that its gridlock right in front of me, so where the hell is he going to go anyway?
This guy was huge, and pissed off so I decided to split the lanes ahead and just keep going. A few people saw this happen, but I thought it wise to let it go.
Sorry,just needed to vent.
be carefull out there...

It's OK to do this on Chestnut, I guess.

Last summer, a teen on a bike was executed near the Italian Market for "obstructing a driver".

Fortunately though, an off-duty cop was driving directly behind the road-rage driver and saw the entire thing go down. Strung out white kid in his 20s did the deed.

If I had a dollar for every Nantucket Nectar that's been thrown at me while biking...

And this is why you should donate to PACCA, not PETA:

In September, PETA made headlines in Vermont and across the nation for asking
Ben & Jerry's ice cream to use human breast milk in their ice cream, instead of cow milk

I took the liberty to add your post to the Philadelphia Bike Map Wiki. A Google Map where we are trying to capture bicycling information for Philadelphia.

http://bicyclecoalition.org/BiketoWo..._map_wiki.html

Who knows maybe if we have enough people reporting issues we can track patterns, such as locations where bicyclists are being harrassed.

There is a difference between simply waiting for traffic to move and purposely riding slow in the middle of the street. One cyclist initiated the incident. As for the shooter; he was 18 and had a prior drug rap.
