It's bound to be overbuilt and underutilized...at least as long as SEPTA trains also serve Main and Elm Streets instead of the upper Schuylkill Valley. And it opens on Monday.

Default Norristown Transportation Center

Hi! I'm moving to West Norriton soon and will be commuting to University City via the Norristown Transportation Center (100 to MFL). I have a few questions for you experienced Septa folk...

How sketchy is the Norristown Transportation Center? I'm a young white female in my 20's. Are there a lot of business commuters there at rush hour (when I will be traveling) or is it only full of questionable people?

How's the 100 high speed train in comparison to regional rail?

How's the parking at NTC? I know that they just put a new garage in but they want to charge $2.50 a day to park!! In Ambler (where I live now) it's only $1. Also the thought of hanging out in a parking garage in Norristown is less than desirable.

Is this route possible?? Does anyone else commute from Norriton or Norristown?

Thank you so much for your input!

The NTC is busy and safe.

If you are going from NTC to University City, the 100 to the MFL is definitely the way to go - it will save you time, and you won't have to go through Center City.

Parking in the surface lot is $1 a day.

NTC is pretty nice, you shouldnt have any problems there.

As for taking the RT100 of the R6, it depends on your destination. Where are you commuting too?

The drive for Norriton to NTC shouldnt be that bad.

I'm commuting to 40th and Chestnut, so I'll be getting off at 40th off of the MFL. Yeah the drive from my townhouse to NTC isn't far but it takes long because of all the lights!
