Default SEPTA expansion map?

I came across this map detailing "future SEPTA expansion" lines while surfing the 'net:

http://www.svmetro.com/septawatch/ma...a-map-v3.1.gif

Not living in the area, I don't know if this is for real, or a fantasy "wishlist". Can anyone give me the lowdown?

i think that might be part of their 100-year plan. if you don't already know, septa doesn't have any money. one can dream, though..

Some are projects that have gone as far as an Environmental Impact Statement or some level of official discussions, but almost everything on this list is unlikely to happen in the near-term.

The R3 Media/Elwyn will be (re)extended one stop to Wawa, but not all the way to West Chester.

I think the short spur from the 100 trolley to King of Prussia is far along the process and might happen in a couple years.

The second PATCO line in NJ is drawn up as a possibility in DRPA plans, but has not progressed to serious planning or EIS.

There has been talk of extending the Broad Street Line one stop southward into the Navy Yard, but I don't think any planning has happened, and there is no funding.

The Broad Street Line extension into Northeast Philla via Roosevelt Blvd (the largest and most sensible project on this map) made it far as EIS and recommended options, but has stalled and most likely won't happen.

The Schuylkill Valley Metro is dead.

I think most everything else is just speculation

The second PATCO line has advanced to what I would consider "serious planning": the DRPA has done an alternatives analysis and costed out three possible alignments. As you saw in today's paper, the agency is launching a road show for South Jerseyites to comment on the three possible alignments for the second PATCO line over the next few weeks.

Some of the projects are becoming more realistic as the gas price go up. I know at least some of the expansions on the map is moving forward.

The map is missing the PATCO extension to 30 st station and the Light Rail on the River....But it can be fixed...

Thanks to John Dougherty and Vincent Fumo, DRPA squandered all of its money to extend PATCO to Glassboro.

PATCO will not be expanding any time soon I'm afraid.

But your subway money is going to build a nice soccer stadium in CHESTER of all places. So enjoy that.

And this is why you should donate to PACCA, not PETA:

In September, PETA made headlines in Vermont and across the nation for asking
Ben & Jerry's ice cream to use human breast milk in their ice cream, instead of cow milk
