Default Campus Visit Discount for Amtrak

My company does partnership marketing with Amtrak on a discount available to prospective college students checking out Philly, figured i should add it to the list. Here's how it works:
  • Go to Campusvisit.com and click on the Amtrak symbol to enter your information. This can also be done on OneBigCampus.com, Philadelphia's prospective college student portal
  • Filling out this information will provide you with the discount code that you can then use at amtrak.com or at their 800 number to purchase the tix
  • The discount works as a buy-one, get-one free for students traveling with parents: for each student that travels, one parent travels free (this is to encourage more on-site visiting of local campuses for those that might not be able to afford it otherwise).
  • Certain blackout dates apply, and it is not valid on Acela service, but otherwise it works nationally, so you could theoretically come from LA or Boise or anywhere with this discount.
Enjoy

I remember when this story was on the news.

I think this is why the majority of the world's lawsuits happen in the U.S.: you can sue for anything now, even when the root cause is the other party's stupidity

yeah...if there's a long hanging wire about 12 feet above the railroad tracks, centered between the rails, and running perfectly parallel with them, and if all the passenger trains have those funky pantograph things that touch that wire, it should be self-evident that that wire must therefore be live and probably very painful if you're grounded...

(Actually I think that that track-to-wire clearance is the main reason why diesels aren't allowed in the CCCC).

Anybody know a discount code to use between Harrisburg and Philly? V769 isn't working.

Hey eldondre...

Heading to NYC sometime next week (probably Monday) and would rather take Amtrak. How do you find out about the discount codes? Are there anymore, or any that concern Philly to NYC in particular?
