Vespa was just reintroduced to the US market after their absence from the 1980’s due to emissions problems with the old Piaggio 2-stroke engines. The new Piaggio engines are 4-strokes and have allowed Vespa/Piaggio to reenter the market in 2000. They had 0 dealerships at that time. Today they have over 60, not bad for a fad! They are allot cheaper then 4-wheels Italian.
I don't know how much they are charging for that scooter but I haven't been very impressed with the scooter dealers in Philadelphia. It seems that for the price you can get a nice lightly used motorcycle for the same or less. Now I know the two don't compare but I have been looking for a new scooter for a while and am seriously considering another motorcycle instead.

Default 2 Stroke engines - BIG polluters

Save the planet buy a scooter with a 4 stroke, or just keep your SUV.

What's the story with Electric Bicycles?
I havn't heard much about them, and with the "Green" movement, you'd think people would be buying them in droves.

Default safety....

I'm thinking about moving to Philly & I ride a 78' P150. I was told to "prepair to wreck" because drivers are insane. Is this true?

Philly drivers are far from insane. If you plan on scooting around the city you should be fine. I would take it to the highway...that would be insane.

Where are you moving from?

Some drivers in Philly are aggressive, and we have had road rage problems, drivers shooting other drivers, people being shot for a parking space, but most drivers here are sane.

Right now I live in a small town, but I've lived in Lancaster, Harrisburg, York...etc Philly would be the largest city I've ever lived in so I was a bit nervous.
