Default Black Olive

My girlfriend and I went there on Friday night. They set up a few of their items on a counter and were allowing people to take a plateful, sit down, and sample them. They said Saturday night they were going to be serving a normal dinner menu.
We both thought the food was good. Since it was being prepared in bulk it was a little bit cold, so it probably lost a little of its appeal that way. However we were happy to go back for seconds.
They also brought out vegan chocolate cake. I'm not a big fan of chocolate cake, but my girlfriend said it was an excellent!
Otherwise the people that were working there seemed very friendly, the ambiance was nice, and we are looking forward to going back for a full meal in the near future. The menu prices seemed reasonable, so hopefully other people will check it out.

I'm guessing nobody else has been here yet based on the deadness of this thread. As a near vegan though I'm thrilled to have this place so close by so I want to support it.
We went back again on Friday and the place was open for regular service. They are doing a slow opening and only half of their menu was available, but there were still plenty of options. I think he said they'd have the full menu in about a week.
My g-friend and I both noticed that the place looked very nice. The floors had probably been redone, the tables and chairs were formal... it had a nice ambiance.
Anyway, on to the food. For an appetizer we tried their crab cakes. I've never had real crabs before, but she has, and she said they were decent.
For the main meal she got a barbeque seitan sandwich. I tried some. It was excellent. The seitan was cooked perfectly and the sauce was very nice. It came with cole slaw and potatoes on the side.
I got a lasagna that was supposed to have vegan cheese. It might have had some, but I never tasted it. I thought the sauce was very good and the lasagna did taste great. However while we thought her dish was very reasonably priced, for several dollars more my lasagna was fairly small and came with nothing else. So that was a disappointment.
The other odd thing was that we got charged for water. Bottled water was supposed to be $1.50. We just asked for regular water, but the waitress did bring a bottle when she refilled it. Then when we got the check it said $2.00 for water, which didn't make sense. When we got the final receipt for tip it had been changed to $1.50, which still didn't make a lot of sense for 2 people.
So they still have a few things to work out, but I think they are off to a decent start. I don't know if there really is enough of a market for a vegan restaurant in Mt. Airy, but hopefully with enough community support they'll make it.
