Roy installed my house in Philly and a neighbor's 10 years ago. I have another friend who used him for his home and a separate business in Center City.
Were the rates affordable? $1500 for installation sounds pretty steep!

I have that same shotgun, the Mossberg 500A, with a collapsible stock.

Why the 410?

Default you should be charged

If there is a call for false alarms, you should be charged. Theoretically you could be keeping them from a real crime. You are not fined for an actual break in. So if your alarm goes off and you actually were broken into, no bill, even if it happens every day. You only get the bill on false alarms.

Why the 410 or 500a? I have been looking. Also why the collapsible stock over a standard pistol grip?

Well, according to the marketing material I've read about it, the 410 was designed specifically or home defense. Lightweight, added recoil compensation, laser sight, double pump action, etc. Something smaller but still deadly...and something the "lil woman" would be comfortable firing. I am not "in the know" enough about firearms yet so the 410 sounded like a "shotgun for Dummies" kind of weapon.

My 500A has both a pistol grip and collapsible stock. I removed the factory pistol and added the pistol/stock combo after I took it to the range a few times. You cant hold a cruiser model (pistol grip only) up to your face...youll loose a few teeth.....and no Im not that dumb...

I like the intimidation of the shotgun...and I also have a few more pieces to add to our home defense arsenal before the end of the year. My greatest hope, however, is that I never have to use any of them...but my other hope is that, if I do have to use any of them, I shoot true and kill my target without any of my family being hurt in the process.

W. Johnson Street...doesn't seem to have many reports of burglaries and such in the last year but...despite my wifes protests...I was raised in a household filled with firearms and other assorted weapons...so I feel really strongly about owning...maybe even carrying...
