Default Montessori pre schools in/near Chestnut hill

Hi all.

We have just moved to Chestnut Hill from Australia and are looking to find a Montessori preschool for our 3 year old. Can anyone provide comments on schools in the area or suggestions?

Thanks
Grant

I actually went there as a kid. Can't say I liked it much, but it's 35 years on, and I think the place closed and reopened at some point. Probably a whole different thing now. It's right outside CH, across Stenton a few blocks.

Default Norwood-Fontbonne Academy

I also grew up in CH, attending Norwood Academy from pre-k to 8th grade some 35 years ago. I would strongly recommend Norwood. I believe that they STILL use the "White House" for pre-k and kindergarten, but obviously that could have changed. But great teachers, great education, and (35 years too late) no formal dress code anymore

Default Wyndmoor Montessori

My kids were at Wyndmoor Montessori for a while. (Took them out b/c of $, mostly.) The administrator there is great, very enthusiastic--I think she really tries hard to make it a welcoming place. We were not happy with the baby room staff, but were better pleased with the toddler staffs. We may go back for pre-school.

I also went to Norwood Academy and enjoyed my years there. Both of our sons went to The Big Backyard

It is a few minutes from Chestnut Hill and we adore the program and the people there.

Good luck with your move and welcome to Philly

Default Norwood

Norwood has a highly respected Montessori program, still use the term White House, and still have a fairly strict dress code.
