Default looking for floor refinisher

I found a thread on this from a couple years ago with some helpful recommendations, but wanted to ask again in case it's out of date--can anyone recommend someone to refinish hardwood floors? We are moving to a home in CH in July and would like to get them done in advance.

Thanks!

Thumbs up Absoutely Floored

We worked with John McGowan of Absolutely Floored (215 233-2012) and were very satisfied.

In our case we did not do a hard sanding, but a good buffing and refinish. This is often a better technique for older floors. Lots of people can do the hard sanding. Fewer can offer other techniques.

John also replaced several bad boards and worked magic in making them match the rest of the floor.

Nice guy, too.

Good luck and welcome to the neighborhood.

I used Henry's Sanding Floor in Pennsauken. Very reasonable price and the floor looks great. It was a "hard" sand with three coats of finish on 90+ year old red oak floors.
