We've tried Cosimos, the place in the SuperFresh shopping center in Chestnut Hill and the place on G'town across from McMens and all three ranged from horrible to just ok. Where is the good pizza in these parts?
How is the place on Mt. Pleasant at Lincoln? |

I went on a busy Saturday afternoon. The pizza looked like it had been sitting there since the previous Thursday. Not inclined to give Cosimos a try since it looked like crap.
Does anyone do the Mom's Bake at Home? |

I second the recommendation for Fino's. We have only gotten their pizza a few times so far, but won't be ordering from anywhere else now.
They have all the good basics of pizza (crust, etc.) and some amazing specialty pizzas. They have pizzas from different regions of Italy (I assume they are at least somewhat authentic), including one from a costal region with calamari on it, which is great! |

Mom's bake at home is pretty good. A little out in the burbs, Pizza City on Willow Grove Avenue in Wyndmoor is really good as is the place on Germantown Pike and Joshua Road near the Wawa. Can't remember the name.

As for the price, it's all going up with the price of wheat and corn from the production of ethanal. Pretzels also. I get a few pretzels in the morning from a local baker who makes them daily and he told me the price of a bag of flour went up $10 from a delivery on Monday to the next on Thursday!!!!!! Wheat and corn also feed all the cows that produce the milk used for the cheese, big domino effect.

Agree with Chris. I find the toppings on Fino's pies very good but think their crust is generic and utterly devoid of character. I will cop to being ruined by DiFara's, Totonno's, Grimaldi's, Lucali, Fornino and several other superior pizza joints back in Brooklyn. Once you've gotten used to really great pies, it's hard to settle.
Serf, I think pizza has gotten significantly more expensive because the cost of ingredients like flour and cheese has gone through the roof in the last year. |
