Default how long from Chestnut to Collegeville

Hi _ I am new to the area and would really like to know how long it would take during an average rush hour to get from Chestnut hill (centre) to Collegeville. The area of chestnut hill looks gorgeous and like it might appeal to someone from old england.

Assumimg you'll be travelling by car (I'm not sure IF you can make the trip with public transportation.), 35-40 minutes.

Default 60-70 minutes

Thanks, this is useful information but to be honest I find the thought of that much communting a little daunting. Is there anywhere as lively, pleasant and well-schooled a little bit nearer to collegeville? I know I am asking a lot but you have been really helpful thus far.

The Village of Skippack on Route 73 (Skippack Pike) is maybe 10-15 minutes from Collegeville and it is very charming in its own way.

If you were to commute to Collegeville from Chestnut Hill, there are back roads (Township Line Road via Stenton Avenue, Township Line Road parallels Germantown and Ridge Pikes and while it gets some traffic for sure, it is much less congested than the other roads)> You definitely want to avoid the 202 to oute 422 uring rush hour.

Good luck in you search!

Default well

I used to live in Andorra and I commuted to Collegeville via Ridge Pike to 476 to 76 to 422. I took me around 45 minutes during rush hour to get there. sometimes, if henry was backed up, i would take bells mill to germantown ave to chemical rd and jump on 476 from there. But i HAD to leave before 730 for that to work out. Public transportation COULD be an option depending on where you work, but the commute wouldn't be shorter. My company provides a shuttle from Norristown so you could drive to the nearest R6 station and take the train if that's an option.

As far as finding a vibrant community closer to collegeville, I don't really know Montco much so I wouldn't be much help :-/ Some parts of Lafayette hill seem ok on Germantown ave and you would get to save on the wage tax. People seem to think that Phoenixville is on the come-up, but the only think I like about Phoenixville is The Thai Place.

I now live in CC and commute to Collegeville and my commute is about the same, as long as I leave before 720. If after, I'm looking at an hour long ride. But it's worth it, for me, because I don't drive at all on the weekends and I did live in Collegeville for a bit. As the weather gets hotter, I'll likely start taking the train, but it's currently not cheaper than gas for me ( thank God for 30+ mpg :-).

Sorry for going off tangent. But I hope something helped!

Any insight on the commute (how long and painful) for a commute from Chestnut Hill to Valley Stream Parkway (just off 202) in Malvern?

I have made this trip often, but never regularly and not recently. Having said that I would give myself 45 min and an hour at rush hour.

Hope this helps.
