Default Carpenter Lane at Cresheim Road

Hi, just wondering if this is a safe area? My husband lived in East Mount Airy as a child and his neighborhood was lovely.

Just curious if West Mount Airy around carpenter lane and cresheim road is safe?

Also, what are some affordable yet safe areas?

Thanks,
Yazkar23

I would say so. True diversity. Trees. Nice looking homes. Of course, you do have crime here and there, but the area has residents of a higher education level than most.

I also saw that you had posted asking about Fishtown. You and your family would definitely be better off and safer in Mt Airy!

The chances of experiencing bodily harm due to criminal activity in my opinion are about the same in both East Mount Airy and Fishtown, that is, about nil, unless you hang out with an unsavory crowd. I know that people are hysterically afraid of crime but statistically it is a car that's going to get you, not a bad guy, unless you yourself are a bad guy, at which point the chances of both go up, especially being taken out by another bad guy. If you live in a Wild West-type neighborhood you might be collateral damage, but neither of those neighborhoods are like the Wild West, for the most part.

Could you define affordable? Also, how big a house you are looking for and areyou are looking to buy or rent. This would help us in guiding you.
