Default Preschool Question

I know there have been many threads about schools but I can't find one about 3 Yr Old preschools. Just wondering if I've exhausted all of my options. We are looking for a preschool that admits 3 yr olds, has full or half day options, is preferably part of a school, not a daycare center, is near Mt Airy, and is not ridiculously expensive. Thanks!

The nursery at Germantown Friends is excellent if they have space, and meets all of your requirements. Both of my kids went there for various periods of time.

I can't answer a preschool post without also mentioning my daughter's (excellent) current preschool, Big Backyard, a cooperative in Mount Airy. However, it's a stand alone preschool and their "full day" ends at 3pm, so it may not meet your needs.

You may want to look at the Waldorf School. It is pre-K through 8th grade, and has half days, full days, etc. It is on the New Covenant Campus across from the Trolley Car Diner. We have loved it (been there since pre-school), and now have grade schoolers there.

The Miquon School has a preschool program starting at age 3. Most of the nursery students go for full days, but there usually is a part time option as well. It may be full by now, but I'd check it out. The 3 year olds have a beautiful classroom which opens into a great outdoor space, complete with a creek to play in! They also visit the art, science, libary, p.e. or music/dance specialist each day. The school is about a 10 minute drive from mt.airy and there is van service available for 3 year olds.

Default Houston

Houston will also be offering a FREE preschool which will be run by Bright Futures (not the district). Their principal is outstanding and very committed to safety and running a good program.
