Default Thank You All!

Wow..such wonderful advice from all of you. Just the level of honesty and your willingness to respond is enough to make me want to move there! Plus, Paul's response about the "cool kids"....

One more question..How often do you go into Chestnut Hill?

We just went out this morning to look at a few more houses and it was just beautiful. We have, it seems, narrowed it down to the home on Sedgwick and another right off Germantown Ave. at the very start of Chestnut Hill on Springfield. I do feel that if the Springfield home prevailed that I would be more apt to socialize and frequent in E. Mt. Airy though....

Thanks Again! We appreciate it.

I have lived on both the West and East sides, for pretty much all of my life. Currently my wife and our two boys (5 and 3) live on the East side on Boyer, a few block towards Chestnut Hill from where you are considering.

My wife moved here from Brooklyn for little ol' me back in 2001 and was feeling the same way about missing Brooklyn for a little while, but quickly made many friends in the neighborhood, mostly other moms that were preggers like her. She has developed a great network of friends at The Big Backyard where our kids go to preschool and at Infusion and other local haunts. There is a great little playground on the grounds of the Lutheran Theological Seminary that many people don't know about (until now!) that she and her friends meet,

Most of my friends that are local, I met playing wiffle ball and kick the can back in the late 60's early 70's when we lived on the 100 block of West Mount Airy Ave (God, those days were fun!). But I have made a lot of new friends too in the dads of other kids that my sons interact with.

It really is a great community and even though you may not be part of the scene that walks to the Co-op, you will appreciate being close to the Avenue and the train stations that are not as convenient to the far West siders.

Good luck in your decision!
