I would stay right where I am but maybe try to buy a 2nd apartment in my building for extra guest and office space. I might re-do the kitchen and make it top of the line. It wouldn't matter that much because I would be traveling the world most of the time in between winters in Florida or So. California or both and summers in the hamptons or Newport or outer banks.

I'd live in a rowhouse on Delancey, 1800-2000 block (I forget which is the really nice one). Then rehab buildings in places that need something going on. Maybe replace the Wendy's at 11th and Walnut. Just off the top of my head.

It's pay to playtime, eberger.

You pay off a few of the pols, then get out with the bucks.

As for selflessness, I leave the remainder to some good organization . . . if I can't get rid of all of it while I'm still alive.

There *is* a certain power trip in it, though, isn't there? Imagine, having read all the discussions that happen here about what building you'd like on what corner, having the ability to actually do some of it yourself?

Yes, I agree the power trip is strong...

For myself, I would stay in Old City. I would buy Mint and Glam, gut them and put in a cool organic grocery store. I would also buy up the surrounding empty properties, fix them up and offer cut-rate leases for local retail (especially a mom-and-pop-type pharmacy). I would clean up Strawberry St., make it pretty and maybe block it off to cars completely. I would open an Ethiopian restaurant. That's all I can think of right now.
