Controversy, I don't know. But I can tell you that Dave Roberts is the father of David Boreanaz. And that from my old job at a Starr restaurant, Lisa Thomas Laury is REALLY nice (so is Connie Colla...is she still around?).

I saw Larry Kane at a movie theater and he is REALLY short. It's a damn shame.

Like...really short, or Danny Devito short? The latter would freak me out, I think.

Larry Kane, while at channel 3, was sued for slander when he reported on a story about Bill Greene, who was mayor at the time. Larry kept saying that the Feds were investigating Bill Greene and an indictment was imminent, and that he, Larry, was one of the reporters who worked the investigation. After repeatedly bragging about the upcoming indictment (which never happened) and his own roll in the case, Larry was sued. He settled out of court with Bill Greene and Larry had to read an apology on air.
From that point on, I knew Larry was a fraud.


Renee Chenault was artificially inseminated because she wanted a kid and she was supposedly either afraid her biological clock was bonging or just couldn't find a man who wanted to do her.

Jim O'Brien's daughter played Roz on Frazier (not controversial, just useless trivia). Jim O'Brien also stopped being friends with his best friend, Steve Levy, because Steve left channel 6 to take a job at channel 10. Jim LOVED channel 6, and thought that no one should ever leave this great station.

He's like 3'8". Weirdest thing.

In 2002 Time Lake was removed from the 5 P.M. news and was demoted to general assignment reporter. He went to accept an anchor position at KYW-TV, but he was told by station management that he'd be sued for breaching his contract. His contract contained a non-compete clause as well as a clause that he could leave at anytime for either a network job or a job in a large market. He filed a breach of contract suit against WCAU. He eventually got his 5 P.M. anchor position back. In 2003, he went back to co-anchoring newscasts with Chenault.

Gee, SGIANNI, I had totally forgotten about Tim Lake and his wanting to leave Channel 10. I wish he had been allowed to leave, he's one of the worst anchors on any station in this city. Channel 10 is probably sorry now they didn't find some way around his no-compete clause.
