i am guessing it is the same Larry Kane here. There is a story/rumor about an anchor by the same name at WABC in the late 1970s. It has been going around longer than the Sue Simmons is a lesbian rumor, so it may be true. Kane apparently pissed off Roger Grimsby after Kane attempted to take a bottle of liquor away from a drunk Grimsby after the two had several previous altercations. Kane was let go from the station shortly thereafter, since you don't mess with Roger Grimsby!

I don't buy the story about Larry Kane being short. I know as people age they tend to shorten, but not like being stated on here. Reason being, I'm 5'10" now, I was 5'10.5" back in 1974 when I met Larry Kane at a WFIL Helping Hand Marathon, and he was the same height as me back then. I still have the photo of us together as proof.
By the way, I remember Larry having a huge mole on the side of his nose.

As for Gardner, I heard his real last name is Goldman, changed to make him sound less ethnic on TV.
Back in the late 70s, him and his "crowd" hung at PT's (now Warmdaddys) in Old City. Gardner would slop down drinks and was known for being openly rowdy. Also rumored, he hung out with a guy named Bill that worked for City Hall, and they had a discreet "thing" going
Other times he was spotted making out with women against his Monte Carlo parked out front at closing time.
Of course, this could be all hearsay... And I'm sure at his age, he's calmed down a lot.

Why?

I happen to find short men sexy probably because they're somewhat rare.

It didn't stop him from becoming a success and star now did it?
So stop picking on him and other short people.
I think you'd love to have his bank account for instance.

person". So you don't get to argue or find fault with how

Yes, it's the same guy. Kane did go to NYC for a while which is why, I think,
he left WPVI and Jim Gardner took over.

Hey, we all have our kinks, whatever gets you moist. I happen to find women with imperfections attractive. Slight limp, space in between the front teeth, glasses, that sort of thing.

As a minimalist and being someone who doesn't get jealous, I could care less about a person's bank account, trust me. Most little people that I've seen or met are creepy, not all, just most. Bridget the midget is OK in my book, but Larry Kane was creepy.

Larry Kane IS short, NE19149. I was with my dad many years ago in an elevator downtown somewhere, don't remember the details, when Larry Kane got on. He was just about the same height as my dad or maybe an inch taller, no more, and my dad was only 5'6". So either you are thinking of somebody else, you've grown taller since you met LK, or LK had on one heck of a pair of elevator shoes!
