Notice that it's the only major city on the "worst of" list. Even Detroit didn't make the list!!!!

So you mean to say that families don't like high crime rates, failing schools, crumbling neighborhoods, and trash?!?!
There's alteady a thread for this! Sheesh...

strange indeed Karen
how you can ignore all this

on top of the dire predictions from global warming for our area from white house report on environment.. and an area with . most asthma, most

Now Karen I ask you whats more important a child having the best hospital around them or being in the worse area for most cancers and being in the worse area for bringing up kids.

If you want that link again from that study email me

another study said even exposure for short periods can kill and this should be sent to all parents who send their kids to Universities in area. I know I am sure going to try as many as I can reach.
Maybe you didn't see the post from the visitor from Chicago who listed something
about the area that really struck him: the incredible number of smokers we
have here. If someone, not from here, notices smokers than, it stands to reason,
that the reason he did(notice) is precisely because we have a lot of smokers here.

Smoking is a big reason we have a lot of respiratory illness in the area. Factor
in air pollution, which increases even more their risks for developing respiratory
disease, and that explains why there are so many.

And a LOT of college kids smoke. More than should make sense but
it's THEIR decision to be stupid.

Na... I couldn't possibly make hundreds of links up but you didn't see this in your local news did you Simon? Maybe you better stop relying on tv news to give you your facts. You can tell Karen there are links that exist that don't include Larry Mendte . Larry is Karens favorite news person . Of course she don't watch the news . Many of the links have been censured from this board incidentally so read em while you can.

That's right. I don't watch TV news.

I'm NOT ignoring it.

Stop miss-representing me.

I've already told you what my DIRECT involvement is in our area with people.

YOU have never once talked about what you are actually doing to help
people. Citing web links is NOT being involved with helping people.

Default It is what you make it.

I have 3 kids, they go the PRIVATE SCHOOL, it's a trade off pay in property taxes out in the burbs or pay tution. My kids play sports, I know all of their friends, they have a very nice life, granted they have to run from getting jumped by hood kids once and while, but there is nothing wrong with being Street Smart, I think it builds character and will help them in life later had 2 situations recently my 13 year old was chased by a mob of african american children because they wanted her electric scooter and my 15 year old last week was confronted by a group of girls because apprarently one of her friends Looked at one of the girls Wrong, We told him to avoid fighting if they can but they also know how to defend themselves to use their head.

The trash and level of ignorance is really hard to swallow you do not see alot of low income people living out in the burbs, but again as long as your kids do not identify that acting and being like that is acceptable it is all knowledge they are gaining.
