That's funny. It sounds like a slum lord whose getting caught up in some L&I violations and court problems.
And it's all your fault.

Wouldn't surprise me if it might have originated from someone on here. And maybe the horrible handwriting and spelling was due to the author being trashed while sitting at a Cottman Ave bar while writing it.

I seriously can not stop laughing, because I am a light drinker too many calories, my kids are all star athletes and honor students and my husband is a clean freak so house is already clean.

Default Anyone spot the Investor bus from NY yet today?

Has anyone seen the Investor bus yet in their neighborhood? I was out walking around looking for it, or people walking around, and have seen nothing. I'm going back out again. If I see them, I plan on approaching them to let them know what we expect (tenants without criminal records who will maintain the property, BPT and rental licenses, etc.) should they choose to 'invest" in our community.

I'm not sure where you're from Wislad, but I wouldn't be looking for the bus in Lower/Upper NE--above say.. Harbison Ave. -- if that far North.
I could be wrong, but I think what happens --or used to happen-- is these investors would tour North Philly, SW Philly- as stated in the announcement- .. and either the investors are interested in those types of houses in those neighborhoods and are OK with the conditions and repairs needed vs. return on investment... or they find they can afford more in a nicer area.. and make plans to come back at a later date. If a few of them get together and decide to come back at a later date and tour "nicer" sections .. you might find them in a minivan with NY tags, or in their personal cars. They'll cruise around with a Realtor's MLS sheet and a navigation system so they don't get lost.

If property investors from NY/N. Jersey want to buy here, they will. But they're not stupid, and most probably won't jump on a house they see on one of these tours. These tours are an introduction to Philly. Some have never been here before.

I don't know what-if anything- can or should be done about these out-of-town investors scoping out our neighborhoods...except to have a local Realtor start their own tour for Philly residents who are interested in investing in property here.

Aren't there any Philly residents who would like to take advantage of this market?

For Questions, contact Sharonn Thomas at 215-669-4470

You will see for yourself, whether or not these cash flow investments fit into your plans for your real estate portfolio.

I am near Wissinoming Park at Fkd. and Cheltenham. I was out and about in my neighborhood all morning and in the afternoon in between the showers. I did not see anything going on. I had spread the word in the neighborhood Friday night so others were on the alert, too. There were no cars or buses with NY or NJ tags or anyone walking around with clipboards or brief cases, etc. Maybe it was canceled because of the forecast for rain.
