[quote=ADX;774774]However, there is a far greater chance of these police officers being prosecuted for their alleged crime due to the public out cry. /quote]
Wait! Are you saying that cops are prosecuted at a higher rate than young black males who commit various gun, muder or drug offenses? ![]()

No, I'm not saying that police are prosecuted at a higher rate than young black males. I was comparing two specific cases - the police beating case and the gang rape that occurred in my neighborhood. Because the rape case was completeley ignored while the police beating case became international news, it's one more example of how the media and the public in general feel that the alleged crime against the thugs in the police beating was far more serious or more important than the gang rape of a white woman.
How would the media and the public handled these two cases if the races were reversed - 1) three white men abduct and gang rape a black woman? (white-on-black rapes are almost statistically non-existant, but we can pretend for a moment) 2) a law abiding white citizen is pulled over and beaten by black policemen? The answer to these questions is simple. The rape case would have become an international scandal and the police beating would have been a one line story in the Inquirer. |

I will admit that the media seems to be biased with their reporting. They do seem quick to show when a black person is abused by authority figures or if some black persons civil rights are abused. But lets not act like they don't also paint black men as homicidal rapist and black women as ghetto queens. So excuse me if I don't feel more sympathy for the woman in your neighborhood who was gang raped. If you really feel that raw about it you should get everyone in your neighborhood to bombard Fox news with the story.

I completely disagree with you on the idea of the media also painting blacks as homicidal rapists. I'm not sure which news sources you use, but most major outlets bend over backwards to make sure they do not show blacks in a poor light. The only media outlets that show blacks as homicidal rapists and murderers are those outlets which glorify hip hop culture. |

If you really want to go there with race over bruality then how come whenever a white woman is missing, her face can be plastered on every screen across the country, yet when the person is black she barely gets a mention. And how come you only hear about white women getting raped by black men and barely get a mention when a black man rapes a black woman? Is is someway to instill fear in white people? Adx wrote: Quote:
Last time I checked, the major news channels in our area did not glorify hip hop culture, nor do the papers.
