Look at the city's recent proposals - registration, requirement to report lost or stolen guns, restriction to 1 purchase per month. Nothing in there about banning all guns everywhere.

It's called a slippery slope. First it's one gun a month, which at face value seems like a reasonable measure. But then it's one gun a year, then it's one gun per person, etc. Then they'll ban the so called "assault" weapons and as soon as someone is murdered by a hunting rifle they'll want to ban large caliber hunting rifles (by the way the SKS shoots the same bullet as my 30-30 deer rifle). And then they'll try to control the caliber of ammunition you can own. .45 caliber will be first, then .40, then .10mm, and so on. And then they'll try to limit the number of bullets any given gun can hold. Before you know it, the gun you'll be able to own is a pea shooter. And you'll have to register that.
