So it was 10 on 1 or whatever. And the other 9 didn't stand there in vapor lock, they acted. How many is too many? I think 10 on 1 is barely enough. There should never be any question as to who will come out on top.

If 10 on 1 is too many, how many is OK in your view?

In terms of holding the guy down, yup, they could have held the guy down. All night. If during the course of that entire night he got his arms free, a bunch of the cops might end up dead. If that was the scenario presented to you, would you just hold him down and let him struggle, resisting having cuffs placed on him? If so, well that's up to you.

For me, I'd do what I had to in order to make him stop resisting. Pain will usually encourage that. Unconsciousness almost always works too. Death would be certain (but excessive).

To suggest that Nutter would "cover this up" is a simpleton's argument, and illogical. There are many steps in the Criminal Justice system, and the Mayor really has no sway here.

Firstly, there is an internal method of investigation.
Second, there was a pretty effective Police Board of Inquiry, staffed by people outside of the Police Department, and included Joanne Epps, now the new Dean of Temple Law.
Third, if this goes before the District Attorney's Office, as has been suggested earlier today, by the administration, the DA's Charging Unit reviews the facts, and makes a preliminary determination. If they choose to charge the officers, then it is up to a JUDGE, ultimately, to determine whether there exists a prima facie case, based on the evidence. If there is enough, then it goes to trial.

This isn't something easily swept under the rug--and the video will make damned sure of it.

And I now wasted 5 minutes of my life explaining something to a troll, woo.

Did you ever consider that a cop being shot upon surprise without the ability to defend himself causes police to act like this and treat accomplices to attempted murder this way?! I'm sorry, you shoot someone, you lose alot of your rights. Otherwise, pull these cops out of these 'High crime areas' and let the residents all fend for themselves in this near war zone.

IMO, the cops acted appropriately. It's been made very clear by the criminal element in this city that they have no problem shooting and killing cops, therefore i approve of this kind of DECISIVE response to these thugs. I hope we see more of it and that it gets broadcast over the airways to send a message. If you resist in any way, you're getting taken down hard and you'll probably suffer a few bumps and bruises for your non-compliance of the law.
I support the cops and these necessary tough tactics.

so you support someone in HANDCUFFS being stomped and kicked when they are obviously no longer a threat since they are under arrest??
