What is making me laugh so hard is the fact that folks are saying these "suspects" shot someone before they got their rear ends handed to them. BIG DEAL, cops shoot people all the time...UNARMED PEOPLE(Sean Bell,Amadou Diallo anyone?)They get away with murder all the time yet no one calls them dirty for doing so. Well the fat lady just sung. Murderers punks yellow and skunks i say. Sooooo, guess what? It shouldnt take 15 to 20 cops to subdue 3 kids armed or unarmed. Far as I am concerned these punks/cough cops rather, were just getting in some potshots. If you want to impress me go toe to toe with someone, don't bring your whole family. These are not men in blue...they're men in blue with one yellow stripe down the back of their uniforms. I salute the real cops that actually know how to do what they get paid to do. As BMP02 said, IF there were hits intended as no more than cheap shots of vengance, that's not right. That's not what I saw happening.

From my perspective, unless the state can prove that these officers did not believe that the force they used was necessary, in other words that the force used was unreasonable, then no crime has been committed.

To your earlier point, internal directives are just that. Internal discipline or retraining is an internal matter. For us as the public, our elected leaders have made the law and we have no reason to expect the police should follow some standard that is not the law, but some other nonsense dictated by the media looking for ratings. or by youtube posters trying to stir up trouble.

The facts are going to come out. I still have confidence that the police did the right thing.

Man, step away from the thread for a night and look at what happens. I'm in agreement with you here, nuleader-- both that we haven't established whether any laws were broken and that we can assume that any kind of force used by police is justified. That being said, it probably stems from different backgrounds/perspectives/whatever-we-want-to-call-it that you think the force used by the police in the video was excessive and I do not (or at least am not sure that it was and, for the time being, am willing to give the officers the benefit of the doubt).

I'm not sure we have to go quite that far with it.

Man, it's a war going on in the streets and cats are oblivious. There are some people that believe in real street justice....

So, do they call their neighborhood cop? NO. They hanbdle it themselves...wwhy do you think the murder rate is so high? Cops? Please....the mindset in da 'hood is that "it's gone get handled"...i.e. we will do whatever- it is what it is.

Its a said persepctive to have; not only do cats in the hood not trust police, they flat out despise them.. real talk.

Now, this is something that I don't agree with, but I see it, I hear it daily. I'm a hood dude...(the slang used is educated thug in a sense, but I'm hardley a thug)... I know how a lot of these guys think...I'm in the mist of the fire... these out of control 'youngbulls' are mad violent. They haven't grown up and experienced a 'fair-one' (fight)...so it's nothing for them to reach for that glock or tech- real talk. Look at a large percentage of today's rappers in Philly. Pick up one of the homemade rap DVDs and listen to the violence they talk about. Mostly, because they live it.

A friend of mines (who was viviously murdered in Baltimore a few years back) has a son in jail now for murder. After his father died, I think he needed to prove his 'thugness'.... one day I was watching the cable chaneel and they have a channel dedicated to murder warrants.

Well, when I saw my youngin' on their, I was like whoa! I called his grandmother and told her that I wanted to know what happened.

Typical Phiilly hood stuff: he felt disresepcted in the club (they guy sucker punched him), so when dude came outside, he was blasted.

She told me that he said he wasn't going down like that (i.e. the cops better be prepared). I told her to tell me his location because 1) if the cops find him, he may get killed. I assured her that I would walk him down the police station and make sure he's ok.... she didn't have an address for him, so I was thinking that here's another funeral I'll be attending.

Luckliy the police found him and stragetically arrested him without any harm to anyone.

I know I was ranting a bit, but I just needed to let people understand why a large percentage of Philly residents distrust and disrespect the police.

And someone mentioned Black officers.....they are looked at by some in da hood as traitors.

We need more beat cops; cops who used to have geinune concern for the neighborhoods they patroled. Beat cops had relationships w/ the people. We need to recruit and hire a more educated police officer.

You haven't provided any explanation other than when they commit crimes they get arrested and when they resist the arrest they get beat. Those aren't valid reasons and certainly no explanation or excuse for their behavior in da hood.

The rap song you posted seems to be about frustration with black cops staking out the thug's drug corner or drug house and the thug is worried about getting shot. Yeah, I guess that must get very frustrating and cause such rage.
