One of the guys was in a half way house. He was sent their after being parolled. He was parolled because he kept his nose clean in jail. I'm not clear what the solution is. Had he served his full sentence, he would have gotten out with no Parole Dep't supervision and he'd be no less dangerous.

Most people who commit violent crime in Seattle, Tacoma and Portland are all white--oh and they shoot at cops there, too.

So, what's your point?

Why not forbid anyone from entering a bank wearing that clothing, conceiling their identity. I would.
As a side note, it seems like most of the people murdering cops are black, huh...

It appears that houston is safer (than Philly) for people and less safe for property.

A couple of things:

1. Houston's geographical area is several times the area of Philadelphia and has swallowed the population of many communities that were once functioning cities of their own. [In Texas, the only form of incorporation is a city.]

2. Houston passed up San Antonio in the 1980s to be the most popular destination in the country for carjackings. This crime is easier to get away with there than it is here because of the freedom of movement by vehicle.

3. Houston took in a ton of low-income folks from New Orleans, and some of the crime that was in New Orleans migrated it's way along Interstate-10 and has now become a problem in both Houston and San Antonio, the two cities which absorbed most of the Katrina refugees.

Total crime in San Antonio post-Katrina shot up 50% according to the SAPD. I think Houston shot up higher than that from year to year.

We're not the only city having problems. Chicago seems to be getting a tinge of a crime wave on the South side.

And more importantly, do they even try and rehabilitate in prison anymore?
