We drove through Germantown and Mt Airy not long ago, and there are a lot of really interesting historical buildings and sites there. Did you know that Louisa May Alcott, the authoress of Little Women, was born in Germantown? We went back to the NE and saw the Ryerss Museum, Fox Chase Farm (the last real working farm in the city), the mansions up in the Far NE...there are some really beautiful places in the city for those who are willing to open their eyes! |

...and if you followed things by Zur's book you would think 80% of the city was in the Northeast.

What I meant when I said "you'd never know you were in Philly", is that many parts of the city (esp. the Far NE) look very suburban or even rural. You'd never know you were in a city proper.
We had taken my father-in-law on a long drive through parts of the Far NE and he kept saying, "Are we really still in the CITY??" |

The NE is the largest section of the city. And the one that foots much of the tax bill for a lot of the rest of the city at that.

And another thing of note was they made the city seem a bit darker then it actually is. They only showed black faces. The most obvious editing choice was when they showed the Nutter meet and greet line and showed a huge chunk of black people and soon as they got to a white person they cut away.
It was such a hatchet job. I mean **** talking about Nutter being a Wharton grad, lets talk about his days as a DJ. ![]()
