Default Why would the Daily News go up to 75cents when you can read it for free on the web?

Makes no sense at all to me so the sales are really going to be lower now because I will not pay for a increase for a paper that's still the same. I will just read it on the web for free like I been doing since 1996

I think you answered your question with your question.

Exactly, less people are buying it and more are reading it online. Profits are down so they raise the price, forcing more people to read it online, making even less profits. Need I continue?

or they might really know what they are doing, pricing the paper where it doesn't lose money. internet distribution is much cheaper so perhaps they won't mind if more people read it online. all the traditional inputs have seen significant price increases, not least of which is the price of delivery.

Dial phones, tube TVs, and printed papers are museum pieces or fast becoming them. I bet there's still a market for all of that stuff though and you'll probably pay more for a dial phone today than in 1960. There's going to be a market for papers.
