[quote]Dear PGW E-Bill Customer,
This is to advise you that E-Bill customers who are signed up to receive an e-mail notification that their PGW bill is ready, and who pay online with a bank check, will now be charged a third-party payment processing fee of $2.95 for each payment. The fee for those paying by credit or debit card will now also be $2.95 (previously $4.00) for each payment. There is a way to avoid the third-party fees! PGW's Automatic Payment (Auto Pay) Plan allows you to have your PGW payment deducted safely and conveniently each month from your bank checking account. To enroll in Auto Pay, visit us at www.pgworks.com, log into your account with your UserName and Password, click on the Payment Center button, and then click on the Automatic Payment (Auto Pay) link. Please note that it could take one or two months for your enrollment in Auto Pay to be processed. Please continue to pay your bill until an Auto Pay message is displayed on the coupon section of your bill statement. Thank you for choosing to receive your monthly bill notice online and we look forward to serving you as an Auto Pay customer. [/unquote] Who charges a processing fee to pay bills online anymore? ![]() Oh, and another nice touch is that under the "contact us" tab on pgworks.com, there's no email link. You have to send them a letter through the mail. Geez louise, what is this, 1993???? |

I don't pay a surcharge to pay my PECO bill online, and I don't use autopay.
What pisses me off is they forced you to go to E-billing with the promise that you could then avoid the silly $3 surcharge. Now, a year+ later, they're forcing the customer to go to auto pay? Screw that. Back to paper billing I go. Let them pay the postage to mail me a bill. I'll let my bank send them a check directly and save myself the stamp. |

PGW is being stupid again.
My monthly car rent for the garage is done free, and I even get a PDF statement from the Kinney, which I can read/see on my iPhone... for free. And I pay it automatically online, for free. Thus, the accounting department at Kinney gets their ass wiped for them... for free. PGW is all about nickel and diming.

Having a PGW account amounts to getting mugged, hon. I'd love to see its customers go into open revolt.
