Default Abandoned buildings to explore

Does anyone know of any good/creepy/fun abandoned buildings in or near Philly that are fairly safe to explore and get into?

What? There aren't many things more interesting than a completely vacated building. Especially one in the middle of a large, bustling city. Stuff is fascinating.

If by "creepy" you mean crackheads hitting the pipe and defecating in the basement, I can direct you to a couple. You might be getting into more than you bargained for going into abandoned properties that are privately owned and not properly inspected, though.

You guys are no fun at all. Go back to talking about future mayors and murder rates.

in my younger days I use to do that stuff, in my early days of photography. I soon grew tired of getting chased by crackheads and dealers. These days, if you get caught by the cops, they charge you with criminal trespass, or something like that.

I use to live in the far NE, on Woodhaven, next to Franklin Mills. Lot of people use to sneak into the Northeast Philadelphia asylum (Philadelphia State Hospital) to take photos. You can see tons of them on the site, just do a google. i'm not sure if people are still into exploring that place.
