Default Postponement for jury duty

Hi Everyone,

I just got a summons for jury duty for Jan 30th. The problem is that I'm a full time nursing student. We get fined $105-110 (i forget the exact amount) for every day that we miss a clinical rotation. I've never been called to jury duty (lucky me!) so I have no idea if being a student is good reason to ask for a postponement. I intend on telling them that I can serve mid april when I have a break between semesters (and giving them exact dates). Do you think that they'll go for this? Should I include a copy of my class schedule for proof or anything (So far I intended to, but is it necessary?)? What are the odds that they'll let me postpone?

Thanks, I'm a little nervous :/

Do that, and if it doesn't work, PM me. But it should.

I had gotten a notice while I was in school. I sent is back with a message letting them know I was a student and when break was. I got another summons to go during my break. Worked out perfectly.

I had sent back a notice saying I could do it, but then something came up and I called them at 4:30 pm the afternoon before I was to serve and they rescheduled me, no questions asked.

Thanks everyone. It seems like it should not be a big deal to get a postponement! Sweet!

They even reschedule those that ignore the notice altogether and send a friendly reminder with a new date to appear.
