Well anyway. If you don't have a drop down pipe that extends down past the regulator{or even if you do} your probem might be a small piece of debris got into the regulator and clogged it. It's not so common that regulators go unless the property sits empty for long lengths of time and themechanism inside get corroded and stick.

Our gas bill stayed around the same or even nudged up a bit when we put in a Tankless water heater, pretty much because the hot water never runs out so you don't get the water starting to cool off telling you it's time to get out of the shower.
But our tankless is a more old school solid state kinda thing, cause we didn't have the option of redoing our exhaust pipes with CAT 5 or whatever the called for piping is, or direct venting the thing outside. So our tankless has no electronic parts (so no need for an outlet and hot water during a blackout) the downside being it still uses a standing pilot light so we do burn that infinitesimal amount of pilot light gas that a tank heater would, just no firing up to heat the tank a couple of times a day, just when we use the hot water. I think the benefit of the tankless is the endless hot water. It might save a couple of bucks on gas but often I think folks just start using more hot water. Also yeah the replacement time on the things are 20-30 years so as long as you don't water calcification issues you should be good shape with them. |
