You miss the good ones, 1993, 1996....2003. La Nina is mucking up our Winters....Lake cutters and blowtorchs...

The local news is silly with this winter storm crap. They end up driving to Allentown to report on the effects.

Their reports about what will happen in our area are mostly works of fiction, and so I end up looking for reports on the internet. Somehow I end up watching anyway.

Dear Channels 3, 6, and 10:

What is it with the unnecessary hype and panic over a couple of snow flurries? GET A GRIP! Don't you have any REAL news and information to report?

If you're wondering why viewership and ratings are down, you only need to look in the mirror at the lousy quality of your so-called newscasts.

First year I was in Philly I remember a news station referring to the snow as "white death"

I can just picture Hurricane Schwartz, combover askew, bowtie and glasses crooked, beating on the PD's door, " Get me on the air! It's flurrying in Media -- the blue route! the blue route!!

Tell me about it. I have a friend from Russia who has lived here for about 15 years. She asked me once, what is it with the locals whining about the winter weather? Last time I checked, you do get snow in the winter in Pennsylvania. My friend said one thing that surprised me, that she thinks the winters are worse here than they are in Russia, but she was from the southern parts of the country. But she said they're very good about dealing with the snow there. No matter how big a snowstorm or when it hits, you go out in the morning and the streets and sidewalks are cleared, public transport is running as usual, and you can navigate. Of course there aren't as many privately owned cars there, but still. I don't see why, when we get maybe two or three inches of snowfall here, regular programming is pre-empted for most of the day.

Show me one time anything was pre-empted for 3 inches of snow...never happen.

And if you follow the storms like I do, you understand why it is so difficult to track these storms...even the models flip flop till the last 24 hours.

One day it is showing 15 inches, the next rain...It is how it goes..believe me at lease you guys don't get depressed when it doesn't snow like my other friends on my other message board.
