Seems I have not been able to get to anything on www.phila.gov for weeks now...

Server not found
Firefox can't find the server at www.phila.gov.
* Check the address for typing errors such as ww.example.com instead of www.example.com
* If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
* If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
What gives? I read through this & a couple of other similar threads for some help, but I still don't understand. Yes, my ISP is Comcast, but I don't have any way around that at the moment. And anyway, what should that have to do with anything? Doesn't Comcast want it's customers to have access to the Philadelphia goverment? Besides, I'd always been able to access phila.gov before via Comcast, but this problem seems to be relatively new. I don't get it. Help!??

Are you using Firefox or Explorer? I usually have much more difficulty getting in using Firefox. Also, check your cookies.

I don't get it either - it is random for me, on Firefox or Explorer. Try to clear out all your caches and cookies and relaunch your browser.
It has nothing to do with Comcast.

This is nuts. I can't get to www.phila.gov via Firefox or IE. I can't remember the last time I was able to get to it. Maybe a couple months?

Yes, I even cleared my cache. But I prefer not to clear my cookies thank you very much. (I do however want to toss my cookies at this point.) Besides, what should cookies have to do with it??

Does anyone have a real/definitive answer to this issue?

Cookies can become corrupted.

Just reset firefox and try again. And due to their server configuration you must type in www.phila.gov . If you just type in phila.gov sometimes it won't work.

Default huh

I just tried again (the same way as always & without clearing cookies) and, for the first time in months, finally got there! Now I just wish I actually had a need to look something up while I have the chance.
