Holy crap! Are you serious? Really????

There are people that see this city on the news for little things like our homicide rate, and *have* to come here for events, and are frightened by the misinformation spread through the media. There are some who seriously think that our streets run red with the blood of the 'innocents' slaughtered. When they finally do arrive, they are pleasantly surprised by what most of us know to be the truth, and the fact that Philadelphia can be fun and have things to do other than cower in their hotel rooms...and you want to take this away?

And people wonder why I call this the idiot board some days.

When you protest, you should use bird calls.

How about those of us who live here? Considering that you live here, I would think you'd take your fellow Philadelphians into consideration.

I live in Society Hill and the duck boats are ridiculously annoying. They blast loud music, they taunt Philly area residents, and they often seem like their single goal is to annoy everyone with their "quackers".

Tourist agencies should give back to the city if they want to profit off it. Annoying residents is not a good business tactic. I for one agree with Walt. The duck boats should quiet down and seek to make everyone happy-- including those of us who live here.

Instead of talking down to someone to make yourself feel smarter, try listening next time and being supportive. Then maybe your hyper-intellectual drivel wil actually sound legitimate rather then plain old stupid.

Thanks steiner! I appreciate your support. I don't understand why everyone is so angry with me!

Feh, I LIVE on South Street. I have had the duck boat people toot me. No big deal. The noise on some Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from the motorcycles is 1000x worse than a few duck boats.

Sell it elsewhere.

I feel this thread is about to turn into one of the classics..

I also believe a lot of people will subscribe to the board and post their first ever thread in support of our new friend and his protest (as steiner555 just did). Welcome steiner555. And welcome shuttheduckup.

This is the third city I've lived in that had a duck. It really was horrible. All the smiling faces. Kids laughing. Shun the ducks I say!

Really, this is the best cause you have to dedicate your time to?

Yes, if only we could silence the ducks, Philly could return to the peaceful, quiet, bucolic town it once was.

Ah yes.
I have visions of Tom and Huck whitewashing a picket fence on Market Street.

Or just go to 9th-12th and market and use a bullhorn like everyone else who protests does (speaking of noise pollution).

Or rev up the motorcycles *every* 3-5 seconds...
