I found the "full disclosure" disclaimer at the end of the article interesting...

How does one pronounce his daughters "Ng" name?

Also, good point on granting his family free education. That seems like some conflict of interest since he's not a professional college teacher and his kids already go there.

That's the American Royalty thing I'm always talking about. The more connected you are, the less you have to actually earn or pay for anything.

I believe policy is any employee gets free tuition for themselves and children. Even if you are a janitor.

His kids' names are Sharif, Ahkeem, Leteef, and Rashida? Pretty colorful for a dude named John.

The fact that she is a student in the class--another suck up move?

That's typical of most colleges.

However, street isn't a professor, yet he was hired as one, and has several children there. Where's the proof that he can teach a class on anything. I've met many people who are good at things but can't explain it very well. There's lots of IT guys like that.

I would assume that janitors are hired based on their ability to janit, right?

It's just a sweetheart hookup, like when Street hired his wife as "Fitness Guru" at 80k a year. Temple alum should protest, as should everyone.

That really is wonderful. I guess as long as you disclose the conflict of interest, it makes it ok. I have no doubt she is on her way to being a successful journalist.

What a joke. Any idea how much payola this guy is getting, or does Temple keep that secret, just like it keeps how much it pays its coaches secret. What a bunch of fraudsters.

Hired on their ability to "Janit"? Now you're making up words? Please don't.

He didn't hire his wife to be "fitness guru", that was Gwen something or other. His wife is Naomi Post-Street, who is a specialist of sorts in children's advocacy issues.

He is an "adjunct" professor, which typically pays a few thousand dollars a course, and typically no benefits.
