Default clarity

What I believe EastChestnut was saying was that the PPD spare no expense in going after someone who has taken down one of their own. And that is certainly true.

My question is, what about the other 300 murdered this year? Where is THEIR door to door manhunt? Where are THEIR roadblocks and vehicle searches? Where is THEIR wall-to-wall news coverage?

What will it take until THEIR lives are considered as important as a police officers?

It will never happen. The police respond with overwhelming manpower when they are emotionally stricken by a heinous act, and that's usually a case where the victim is one of their own, a relative of someone in law-enforcement, or a revered local figure. For some anonymous nobody living in the city, you don't get that response. It's not an issue with Philadelphia cops. All law enforcement departments behave this way, and the justification for it is rather stupid [which is why I bring it up].

That's human nature. People don't care much about stuff like this until it hurts them directly. We're all guilty of that to some degree.

Nobody is gonna launch a manhunt for the shooter of a dead hooker. Prove me wrong.

And this is why you should donate to PACCA, not PETA:

In September, PETA made headlines in Vermont and across the nation for asking
Ben & Jerry's ice cream to use human breast milk in their ice cream, instead of cow milk

Yet catching the killers of everyday Philadelphians, whether that be a regular working person, shop keeper, or prostitute will go a long way in preventing future tragedies caused by these murderers. I seriously doubt this is the first homicide by the person who shot the police officer in the donut shop. I'm actually shocked they haven't found him by now considering the very distinctive characteristics about him.

Nor was it a first for the shooter at 15 & Samson Tuesday night.

While emotions and brotherhood do come into play, you are missing a big point.
Anyone who will shoot an armed, trained police officer wearing a ballistic vest, who can drum up hundreds more armed officers at the click of a button will kill anyone. At this point, this shooter is a threat to every single person he comes into contact with, including his family.
When we start killing the protectors, we are all at risk.

ALSO AGREE.

But when the PPD show this massive amount of force in responding to a "normal" murder, then and only then will we see our murder rate decrease.
The PPD need to treat every murder as if it happened to one of their own.

Not as distinctive as you'd think, it seems:

No argument there.

Yeah I saw that story today. The similarities are creepy. This man is going to have a rough time of it until the shooter is caught. The police actually should give him a document clearly stating he is not who they are looking for...
