username: very straightforward. My first name plus the beginning to my last name. It is not a reference to my mouth, which is decidedly normal; no Joliesque monstrosities decorate MY face!

avatar: "Kilroy was here" cartoons have been around since WWII. The most popular theory was that a shipyard inspector would write Kilroy was here as he inspected rivets on ships to keep track of where he inspected and to ensure that riveters only got paid for what they actually riveted. All those ships went to war, sailors kept seeing these crypic writings, and a legend was born.

By the way, Mr. Roboto is also named Kilroy, domo arigato.

Are you Latvian? That's the only "Lat" nationality I can think of.

I've got a fair amount of Lithuanian in me, though my family has been in the US since the 1890's.

Labas! yes, actually both my husband and I are. Our families didn't make it here until the 50's and now we're all headed back. My parents have been there for a while and as soon as we can sell our house - we're heading to Riga as well! Can't wait! I used to know a lot of Liths back in college.

how the hell did i miss this thread?! now i'll have to go thru it all to take in the fun!

in the meanwhile, to answer the questions:

PhillyAggie is just a stupid attempt at a username, combining obviously my interest for Philly and my want of moving there, and my more Texan background of being a Texas Aggie (or simply, an Aggie). I figured not many Aggies would show up on PB, though I've seen a few and chatted with them on here.

My avatar picture is actually a carved-out tree trunk, and the tree is in Philly. Anyone want to guess where it is? I wonder if anyone of the PBers have seen this specimen in their wanderings around town....!
