You could always put trash all over your flat and then shoot her.... that might remind her of home !

Back before the internet I used to make tapes for my sister from he radio and tv from local shows and mail them to her. Things like the Action News theme and bumpers. A copy of the Daily News or Inquirer, or even the Northeast Times. Framed Pictures always work too.

I wouldn't worry about something like a TastyKake going bad between here and England. I'll even make a deal with you. Send me a few Mars Bars, and Cadbury flakes, and I'll send you some Tastykakes. Maybe even some Yuenglings for some Deuchars IPA

Oooh, good idea. We could get a real black market exchange going here. We've already got people sending us over bootlegged copies of EastEnders episodes. What else ya got to offer, Gal?

(Sorry sputnik, thanks to my works firewall, I cant open your links. I'm assuming, given some of the stories my g/f has told me about her experiences of riding the el, they were less than complimentary!)
Firewalls suck.

SEPTA memorabilia is always in fashion www.septa.org click on the "transit store" link on the left hand side.

Philadelphia's famous Mutter Museum http://www.collphyphil.org/mutter.asp, or google "Mutter Museum" if your firewall goes ape at .asp links.

Pat's Steaks www.patskingofsteaks.com has some memorable tshirts and hats...

You could order her prints of historic photos of her old neighborhood/house at PhillyHistory.org. There are also some more recent photos there of things such as City Hall and Love Park at Christmastime, fireworks at the Art Museum for the 4th of July, etc.

Also, make sure to check out the featured photos for some of the best/most fun photos from the collection.

So maybe next year you can get her Rocky. (Personally, I'd go for the 20" one.)
Mmmm..tempted, but the thought of seeing old sly's ugly mug staring at me - even in 20" reproduction form - is enough to make me feel queezy

Really like the framed view of Philly, though...I think we may have a winner!

Yuenglins, now you're talking! I do believe I would earn credits for ever if I could get her some Yuenglings

Could do the deal though - would you accept a Dairy milk and a few Kit-Kats instead?

Hmmm..lets see. Well, in addition to the Cadburys Dairy Milk and the Kit Kats, I can offer episodes of 'Hollyoaks' ( a British teen soap that is ghastly - but my g/f loves it!) and an English to Cockney phrase book for the times when Phil Mitchells growls become unintelligeble!

Oh, and if you twist my arm, I may throw in a cream egg

Hows that sound?
