Default Live Music Listings

Hey there -
My family and I have recently relocated to Philly from Staten Island. I went to see bands pretty frequently in NYC and don’t want to miss out on any shows in my new adopted home. City Paper and PW are all well and good, but does someone know if there is a website out there that covers what’s going on here in town? Something like what http://www.ohmyrockness.com/ does for New York and Chicago; a site that covers everything from the Electric Factory to some new hole-in-wall in Northern Liberties.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I’ve been here a week and a need to get that first show under my belt!
Thanks again.

I don't know of any all inclusive lists either, I hope someone posts one. I usually use the weekly & city paper as well as ...
www.bowerbird.org --experimental shows
www.r5productions.com --indie shows
www.foundationarts.org --art - music & events

These should get you to a show!
What do you listen to anyway?
I hope you find something you like.

Default pollstar

I used to live next to a guy that was an agent for a couple bands and he suggested http://www.pollstar.com/. I've used it ever since- it appears to be pretty comprehensive.

The WPRB (princeton university radio) website is also pretty good:
http://www.wprb.com/calendar.php

The Ars Nova Workshop provides an excellent program of Jazz/Avant Garde/Experimental music that doesn't tend to fall within the traditional "rock" listing criteria. Super high quality music though:
http://www.arsnovaworkshop.com/

Finally, the MySpace page for "DIY Philly" will be redundant with all of the suggestions that have been posted, but will also include house shows (mainly in West Philly) and other miscellaneous happenings that are not advertised in any major sources:

There's a lot going on these days, music wise. These should keep you pretty busy/informed.

www.wxpn.net is a great site if you are into the singer songwriter artists and smaller venues around the area.
