Expect to see shootings of 'poor, troubled, youth, who were basically good kids' go up, as people who are more frightened start to carry more.

Default Philadelphia's homicide count for the year to 70.

Two men were shot dead over the weekend bringing Philadelphia's homicide count for the year to 70. The number of killings in the city remains down - about 28 percent - from last year's total of 98 slayings to date, police said

Default PPD interactive crime map

Has anyone used this yet? Do you find it helpful?

I did recently for info on a section in N. Philly. I found it convenient.

Any opinions on Ramsey's/PPD's new initiative?

I thought only drug dealers and people who owed drug dealers money tracked the murder rate.

What's the armed robbery rate?

I have been keeping notice of (but not actually recording) the homicide count and percentage on ppdonline almost daily. Has any website been keeping track (a graph or chart) of the day-to-day count? I don't see anything on ppd. I know malcolmxpark.org does a stats update sometimes, but it is based on monthly and not daily numbers. The percentage right now is about 19 compared to last year and it seems low compared to the 25-28% I was seeing a few weeks ago.
