For a few weeks now, on all my TV's, I am getting picture freezes, pixelation, picture and sound dropouts, etc. It happens pretty regularly, at least once or twice per half hour. I know at least one or two of my friends in the area are having the same problems.
If you have this problem please post your location too. I am in Queen Village / Society Hill area.

I keep getting a Meta-6 error whenever I try to go to the OnDemand.
On the HD channels my screen freezes now and then.

happening everywhere.
My inside guy at comcast sez that they are trying to push more performance out of the line for higher Internet speeds, phone service, pay per view. They are pushing the network past specs and it is resulting in lousy service. Since Comcast has a lock on the city (check whose pockets they line in city hall), they are not too worried about it. They do not have any plans to upgrade their equipment in the field even though they know it can't do what they are pushing through it. You want better? Call. Call and call. Do not give up, have the cable guy come by once a week until they fix it. They can upgrade the field equipment but will only do so if they get enough calls in a certain area. Basically, you have to make it more expensive for them to not upgrade the equipment than the cost of upgrading. Comcrap

Yeah, I know what they are doing and what the problem is....its nothing new just worse than ever. I just want to know how many people are being affected. Comcast wants to push through 8 million crappy digital cable channels, on demand garbage, phone, high speed internet, etc. Not only are they probably running into their limitations for their system but they are also no doubt compressing the hell out of their cable channels resulting in poor picture quality.
I think a public "strike" is in order. If everyone started calling in and complaining perhaps comcast would act. If not, then mass refusal to pay is in order. PLEASE....if you are having problems, take 2 minutes to call Comcast and complain. If people aren't complaining Comcast has no motivation to fix their problems. 1-800-Comcast

I started this thread about the same problems. I'm on Penn's Landing/Old City. This building was JUST wired about 2 months ago! I've been in Philly for almost a year, and have never had such bad cable tv before in my entire life as it's been since we've been here. It was almost as bad at our other place in Northern Liberties, too. |
